Cinergy Cinemas currently operates two new eight-screen theatre/family entertainment centers: one in Copperas Cove, Texas that opened in June 2009 and one in Corsicana, Texas that just opened on September 24.  The concept features family entertainment components such as a huge arcade, prize redemption area, mini-golf, go karts, mini-bowling and/or laser tag.  Theatre amenities include items such as 16" tall stadium seating, high-back leather rocker chairs, state-of-the-art projection and sound systems including the latest digital 3-D, homemade pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, and beer and wine in addition to all the normal concessions.  Cooked food items are delivered to your theatre by a food runner as soon as they are prepared in the kitchen.

Cinergy Cinemas is owned by successful entrepreneurs, Jeff & Jamie Benson.  The Bensons used their vast operational knowledge of both traditional cinemas as well as movie grills when creating the Cinergy Cinemas concept.  Jeff Benson, CEO, has always been a visionary and leader in the theatrical exhibition industry.  Cinergy Cinemas' theatres are the first-of-its-kind in this hybrid class of cinema eateries/family entertainment center.  The Bensons believe that hybrid cinemas will become very popular around the country in the future now that have proven the success of concept.

The Bensons started in the exhibition industry by constructing two traditional cinemas branded “Driftwood Theatres” in Granbury and Marble Falls, Texas, the first of which opened in 1999.  They also founded the Movie Tavern chain of cinema eateries.  The first Movie Tavern opened in Ft. Worth in 2001. In 2005, the Bensons recapitalized the company by entering into a joint venture that allowed Movie Tavern to become the largest and fastest growing operator of cinema eateries in the United States.  The Bensons sold their interest in Movie Tavern in 2008.  At the time of the sale, Movie Tavern operated 98 screens in 12 complexes in 5 states.
